Why Ceremony?
Hadley Gallen | OCT 8, 2022
Dear %FIRSTNAME%,
On Friday, October 28th I am holding a special ceremony, and I would love for you to join us!
Why ceremony?
There was an age when sitting in circle was how we communicated; we knew how to listen, and how to be heard. Ceremony was the technology of connection - with each other, and with the life-force that guides us.
The ceremonies of nature call to us - the natural cycles of the seasons, the rhythms of the moon phases, the rise and set of the sun, the ebb and flow of our moonblood - these cyclic rituals have been observed since time immemorial.
Ceremony is a sweet and necessary medicine that we have been doing without for a very, very long time.
Can you feel its absence?
Can you feel its significance, hearkening to you from aeons back, along your bloodlines, perhaps?
When women gather in circle, magic happens.
The call to circle is one as natural as breathing.
It's why stories like Anita Diamant's The Red Tent holds such a mystique for us (indeed, since its publication in the 1990s that book sparked an international movement of sisterhood circles).
The women's tent was a place of life, birth, death and blood, where women shared their wisdom, their joys and sorrows, and empowered each other with the strength to be human - to be woman.
But we live in square houses. We sit at rectangular desks and watch rectangular screens. We drive on straight roads, color inside the lines. We have been conditioned to silence our curves - and our voices.
And our stories.
Since the fall of Roe, women have been sharing their stories, speaking out and challenging the shame and stigma that is imposed on our bodies, and our choices. We've begun to gather again.
And YOU are needed.
It is time to gather. To share what's in our hearts, and listen to what's in others'.
I am inviting you to...
I am very much looking forward to circling with you, dear sister!!
Love
Hadley
