I taught myself the method out of a book I found by chance, and I immediately began using it for contraception with total trust. It changed my life.

There are some myths out there that Fertility Awareness is:

• Too difficult to learn

But these are harmful myths that perpetuate the most harmful myth of all: that female bodies are complicated, taboo and need to be controlled.  

I teach a version of the Symptothermal Method, which has been proven to be up to 99.4% effective as contraception!

When I was figuring it out on my own, I felt empowered, awestruck by how COOL my body was.  

I also felt raging mad that nobody had taught me this stuff sooner.  

Teaching myself without community also gave me this false sense of aloneness.  It felt like my charting practice existed in a vacuum; I didn’t have anyone to talk to about what I was experiencing, and the only charts I ever saw were my own.  I didn’t have anyone to help me navigate real life situations - such as what to do in the case of accidental semen exposure (and yes, it happened!).

Listen.  I totally know with 1000% clarity that you CAN teach yourself.  I did - at first. That was the personal reclamation part of my story. The next chapter was learning from a wise teacher in the company of empowered women. THAT opened up a whole new world for me, and encouraged me to deeply embody my charting practice.
